They Misunderestimate Me

Lyrics by George W. Bush as arranged in verse by Les R. Wood

(Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious music and original lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman)

They misunderestimate me; I read the newspaper.
I glance at the headlines just to kind of get a flavor.
To think that I don’t know what’s going on is just a myth
Though I rarely read the stories, I get briefed forthwith.

Um diddle diddle diddle um diddle ay
Um diddle diddle diddle um diddle ay

Rarely is the question asked, “Is our children learning?”
Though it’s true that reading is the basics for all learning.
You know, I’ve read, I understand about reality.
Literate and hopefuller is what we want to be.

Oh, they misunderestimate; I know what I believe.
And I will keep articulating just what I believe.
Now what I believe, what I believe I’ll now recite,
For the record I believe what I believe is right.

As I stated in my State of the—my State of the Union—or state—my speech to the nation—I asked citizens to give 4,000 years—4,000 hours over the next—the rest of your life—of service to the country. That’s what I asked—4,000 hours.

I don’t think we need to be subliminable about the differences between our views. This is still a dangerous world. It’s a world of madmen and uncertainty and potential mental losses.

In my judgment, when I say there will be serious consequences, and if there isn’t serious consequences, it creates adverse consequences.

Um diddle diddle diddle um diddle ay
Um diddle diddle diddle um diddle ay

I know the human and the fish can co-exist in peace.
More and more these days our imports come from oversees.
Even though this issue doesn’t seem to resignate,
The important question is “how many hands— have I shaked?”

Oh, they misunderestimate me; I am the decider.
I’ve decided that we ought to make the pie— higher.
Malfeance was not involved; I am not a hider.
They misunderestimate me; I am the decider

I’m the decider; I decide.
I’m the decider; I decide.

(He’s the decider, he decides.
He’s the decider; he decides.)

I don’t believe in planners and deciders making the decisions on behalf of my citizens.

Part of the facts is understanding we have a problem, and part of the facts is what you’re going to do about it. The best place for the facts to be done is by somebody who’s spending time investigating it.

I’m a person who recognizes the fallacy of humans. They are more likely to succeed with success as opposed to failure.

I’m a pitbull on the pantleg of opportunity.
I think the past is over-, on that we all agree.
Families is where we find our hope,
Where wings take dream.
Our priorities— is our faith,
Oh, you know what I mean.

There’s an old saying where I come from that says, “Fool me once, shame on—shame on you. Fool me—you can’t get fooled again.”

You can’t take the high horse and then claim the low road. I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family.

Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.

This is a budget, that is clear; there’s lots of numbers in it.
Quotas vulcanize society, so I’m agin' it.
If that means what I just described I’m for, well then I’m for it.
They misunderestimate me, and I think that’s horse shit!
